Have you ever wanted to incorporate dance into your everyday outfits? Here is where you can learn what to do, and what not to do.
Steps
-
Get appropriate headgear. You can make a tight bun, which always looks nice, but if you want a dance look that's more relaxed, you can have a ponytail with a cute headband. Sometimes, using hair ribbons or barrettes from past costumes can look really cute.
-
Wear a ballet top. You can wear a form fitting tee shirt or tank with a sweater, or if you're going to a dance class you can wear a leotard with a flirty shrug. Some girls also like to wear a ballet warm-up sweater (they have tons at discountdance.com) with a lacy cami. Also, if you attend, or have ever attended, dance competitions, the tee shirts they sell there (like at Fire & Ice or USTD) look really good over a cami.
-
Look for lengthy leg coverage. Anything that elongates the legs is good. Good jeans, or a nice denim mini. Wearing leg warmers with a skirt also looks really cute, if you know how to do it. Don't wear funky-patterned legwarmers with a funky skirt. Aim for simple, like solid-colored leg warmers with a denim miniskirt.
-
Find sweet footwear. You should wear some shoes like athletic tennis shoes or flats. Also, socks should be low cut.
-
Add the extras, like some jewelry with the word "dance" or ballet slippers.
Tips
- Be careful if you wear tutus over jeans or leggings you may get strange looks.
- Wear pastel colours and try to squeeze a little black in.
