How to Dress Like an Urban Street Chick

Here is a guide to dressing as simply as possible but still street urban.

1. Choose clothes that match. If you choose to wear two different colors, pair a bright color with white, black, gray, or brown. Incorporate the colors you use in your shoes and accessories.
2. For tops, start with the basics. Polos with stripes or in bright colors will always look good. Try plain t-shirts in any color. Graphic t-shirts are a great way to express yourself, and shirts with words are street urban.
3. Bottoms are just as important as the top. Wear colors like white, black, gray, or brown. If you decide to wear a light color, try wearing a top that is also light or that is in a basic color like white or black (Example: Pink jeans with a black top).
4. Jeans match and practically go with anything. Jeans are a simple way to dress practically and are great for any season! If you want street jeans, try distressed, ripped, white-washed, or bright colored jeans. But jeans of any kind will most likely pass for street urban.
5. Shoes are important. Try sneakers with a hip hop flare in bright colors. Converses are great for anybody in any color. Ballet Flats are always cute in any color. Usually, flip flops are only worn in the summer. Fashion Boots in dark colors like browns, grays, or blacks are super city chic cute. All these shoes work for a street urban look.
6. Wear Jackets and Vests. Jackets are mostly for cold weather but denim jackets are great for any season. Vests are a great way to add prep school spirit. Graphic hoodies really define street urban.
7. Accessorize. Accessories define an outfit with detail. Cut totes are a great way to carry your stuff. Add charms to your bookbag to personalize it. Bangles are always great bracelets. Bright or dark beaded necklaces rock and are simple. Stud earrings are simple and cute. If you have double piercings, try wear studs on the top and dangly earrings on the bottom.
