How to Dress Up As Glinda the Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz

Glinda the Good Witch is a great Halloween or fancy dress costume. Here are some ideas for copying her look, whether it is the book version of Glinda, or the movie version.

Steps

  1. Decide which Glinda you would like to be: #*Glinda from the Frank L Baum book - tall, red haired, white clothing and serene lookingDress%20Up%20As%20Glinda%20the%20Good%20Witch%20from%20The%20Wizard%20of%20Oz%20Step%201Bullet1.jpg
    • Glinda from the Wizard of Oz movie - not so tall, red hair, dressed in pink and sweetly smiling all the timeDress%20Up%20As%20Glinda%20the%20Good%20Witch%20from%20The%20Wizard%20of%20Oz%20Step%201Bullet2.jpg
    • Glinda from Wicked - Short, neat blond hair, beautiful pink dresses (see image below)Dress%20Up%20As%20Glinda%20the%20Good%20Witch%20from%20The%20Wizard%20of%20Oz%20Step%201Bullet3.jpg
  2. Obtain a suitable outfit. A frilly pink number with sparkling elements is perfect for movie Glinda; a more serene white robe is good for book Glinda.Dress%20Up%20As%20Glinda%20the%20Good%20Witch%20from%20The%20Wizard%20of%20Oz%20Step%202.jpg
  3. Add a tiara. Both versions of Glinda wear a headdress. See the images for copying them.Dress%20Up%20As%20Glinda%20the%20Good%20Witch%20from%20The%20Wizard%20of%20Oz%20Step%203.jpg
  4. Wear a wig if necessary. The movie Glinda really does look good with red hair, to pull off the "sweet pink dress against red hair" look. So finding a red haired wig would be a great help. But as seen in this image, the blond look goes well also. If you are dressing up as the book Glinda, your headdress will cover your hair.Dress%20Up%20As%20Glinda%20the%20Good%20Witch%20from%20The%20Wizard%20of%20Oz%20Step%204.jpg
  5. Don't forget the wand. It should have a star shape at the end.Dress%20Up%20As%20Glinda%20the%20Good%20Witch%20from%20The%20Wizard%20of%20Oz%20Step%205.jpg
