Glinda the Good Witch is a great Halloween or fancy dress costume. Here are some ideas for copying her look, whether it is the book version of Glinda, or the movie version.
Steps
-
Decide which Glinda you would like to be: #*Glinda from the Frank L Baum book - tall, red haired, white clothing and serene looking
- Glinda from the Wizard of Oz movie - not so tall, red hair, dressed in pink and sweetly smiling all the time
- Glinda from Wicked - Short, neat blond hair, beautiful pink dresses (see image below)
-
Obtain a suitable outfit. A frilly pink number with sparkling elements is perfect for movie Glinda; a more serene white robe is good for book Glinda.
-
Add a tiara. Both versions of Glinda wear a headdress. See the images for copying them.
-
Wear a wig if necessary. The movie Glinda really does look good with red hair, to pull off the "sweet pink dress against red hair" look. So finding a red haired wig would be a great help. But as seen in this image, the blond look goes well also. If you are dressing up as the book Glinda, your headdress will cover your hair.
-
Don't forget the wand. It should have a star shape at the end.
