Dressing up your pet for Halloween is an exciting thing to do for almost every family with a pet.Watching them trot around in their costume looking so adorable is so much fun, especially when you take him or her trick-or-treating with you. But there is a fine line between cute and well...just plain dumb.
Steps
-
Figure out where you're going to get your costume from. Where you get your costume from is hard to decide because some pet stores have amazing costumes but are also very expensive. Some other ideas are Petsmart, Pet Supplies Plus, Walmart, or any other local pet store.
-
Find out what size your pet is. If you have a very small pet look at your options: which ones are small animal costumes. If you have a bigger pet, do the opposite. Look at the bigger animal costumes.
-
Try on a couple of costumes that you like and make sure your dog likes them too. If you are going to buy an expensive costume you might want to make sure they are comfortable and have room to grow in to it.
-
Once you decide what costume you want and find the perfect size for your pet, make sure you like it and you think other people will too. Remember your opinion counts!
-
Wash your pet so that they will look neat and clean. (Remember to completely dry them so they aren't cold)
-
Groom them. Once you are done washing them, brush their fur so that again looks neat. Then it's time to get dressed up!
Tips
- Don't take your pet trick or treating to specific houses if you know the residents may get scared or are allergic.
- If you don't end up taking your pet, leave your pet at your house and keep your lights on, so kids who come to your house can see the your adorable pet.
Warnings
- If your pet is not good around other people, consider the problems that will be caused by your pet before you take him or her trick or treating.
