How to Dress to Hide a Weight Increase

If you have had a recent weight increase, it is possible to dress to hide it... within reason. Naturally, if you've put on a lot of weight, it will show, so it is important to have reasonable expectations from the outset. But, you can hide a few pounds very easily.

Steps

  1. Try your larger fit clothes. Most people have clothing that feels a little more comfortable than other clothes. Wear the ones that fit and feel comfortable. We can actually look a lot larger for wearing clothes that are too tight; clothes with more give are more forgiving in appearance. If you wear clothes that are too tight, it will squeeze all your curves and lumps, making you look even heavier. Wearing looser clothes will hide some of the fat because it will hang down from wherever the furthest out part of your upper torso is.Dress%20to%20Hide%20a%20Weight%20Increase%20Step%201.jpg
  2. Try an empire line. This can be very forgiving of what is below the chest, provided you don't have a large chest, for it can hide a lot of the "tummy fat". However, it can make you look quite large above the chest line, so be careful. These have the waistline under the breasts, so if you are large breasted, skip this step. If you have most of your fat under your waistline, the looseness under the waistline will hide the extra flab.Dress%20to%20Hide%20a%20Weight%20Increase%20Step%202.jpg
  3. Wear dark colors. Dark colors cover up a multitude of flabby flaws, especially if the fabric is good quality. This is not limited to black. Wear maroon, eggplant, forest green, deep grey, crimson, navy, etc. Falling in the black rut is very bad. Monochromatic outfits also do the trick to an extent.Dress%20to%20Hide%20a%20Weight%20Increase%20Step%203.jpg
  4. Try to lose that weight. Exercising daily and watching your diet will help. Avoid eating fatty foods and things with high calories. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables while also eating smaller portions. Do cardio, strength, and flexibility exercise training.Dress%20to%20Hide%20a%20Weight%20Increase%20Step%204.jpg
  5. Changing your posture can also help. Slouching will give you a larger appearance. Throw your shoulders back, straighten, and suck your stomach in! Stick out your behind so your curves are shown in all the right places.Dress%20to%20Hide%20a%20Weight%20Increase%20Step%205.jpg
  6. Take the attention away from the tummy! Make your face more noticeable with make up. Do your hair in a wild and unusual style to attract attention away.Dress%20to%20Hide%20a%20Weight%20Increase%20Step%206.jpg
